Roster of White Pass & Yukon Route Motorcars

    Motorcar # 2055 was originally a standard gauge, but Patrick "Smitty" Smith of Sumpter, Oregon, narrowed it and built the cab. It was bought by Gary Danielson and John Mielke, President and Vice-president respectively of The White Pass Group of Companies, in 2006. It was originally orange but was repainted - see the painting progress in the photos below.

    The car was never put into service. The coil was faulty (only one half fired) and although it ran, it didn't run well. It was never repaired, just put on display.

    The information and photos were passed on to RailsNorth in May 2015 by White Pass employee and motorcar expert Gil Dominguez, who owns a similar motorcar.
